Supplies for the first week
I didn't need much more supplies then I had at my house already. I had enough warm clothing. I had at least 10 cords of dried fire wood and 15 cords drying out. I had at least 100 gallons of disel that I could use for my truck and for oil lamps. I had 400 gallons of drinking water in drums in my basement. I went out to the store to get some more wicks for my lamps and first aid supplies. I had a hunting bow and arrows so that I could get fresh meat which I did often enough before. I was all set to survive.
Food for the 1st week
I was very lucky. Well, the whole town was. We are a small, rural town, and we had already stocked up on food for the winter. So the we all had food in the houses already. On the day 4, the town decided that we would divide the food up that we had in town between all the residents in the town. The amount of food in the store was enough that after we divided all the food up, each person had at least a years worth of food if it was rationed correctly. I was all set, I was not going to need any food for a while.

Day 1-3
Day 1-
The world split in have. It must have. I have no other explanation for the events of the past 24 hours. I had a bad feeling when I went to bed last night. I woke up within an hour of putting my head down because the world was starting to shake. I was have asleep for a few minutes, but when I realized that the shaking was becoming stronger I became fully awake. My first thought was an earthquake. I was not in an area known to have earthquakes but things happen. The quake subsided but there was such an unusual feeling still around me. I felt so much lighter.
It seemed abnormally quiet even at night where I lived. I then noticed that it was sunny out, but the sun seemed bigger then I ever remember. And the moon was right next to the sun. It almost looked like it was behind the sun. I walked out to the kitchen to find there was no power or water. That confused me because I could not hear or see any real damage to my house or my yard besides some fallen trees and some bolders moved. I decided to go drive around and see if there was any more damage. As I went out to my truck I still felt like there was something different, like I was lighter. It was also somewhat harder to breath. But as I drove down the road, the only damage I could see could have come from a heavy wind storm.
My towns not to big. Maybe 200 people and the houses are spread out, I live in a very rural part of Maine. We all know each other and always care for each other. But as I drove into town it still surprised me to see everyone coming into town. I guess everyone wanted to find out what was going on. But no one knew what had happened. Everybody had ideas, mainly that it was an earthquake, but no one knew for sure. Phones, radios, computer, even a simple magnetic compass were not working at all, and that really confused us. Few people were scared, but for the most part we all stayed calm.
No one leaves town until it was dark, it didn't seem like anyone else cared that their watches and the clock tower read 10:00am when it began to get dark. The day was long enough already, I just wanted to sleep. I drove home and when to bed.
Day 2-
Surprisingly, I slept well that first night. I woke up as the sun was rising, except it came from the north and the rays woke me up. After I got up, I moved as much of my perishable food into my celler because it was cold in there. Then I went into town to check, there was no news. I filled up my truck, and 2 50 gallon cans in the back of my truck and went back to my house. I spent the rest of my day cleaning up my house and making sure I was set if what ever is going on continues or gets worse.
Day 3- I went into town and there was no news. Checked in with a few of my buddies who were all ok, and went back to my house. I was lucky because my houses water supply is stream feed so I still could get water, but it was really cold. Not water I would want to shower in. By now it was dark and I had no power so I went to bed.
